By way of introduction here are a few of my favorite recent projects. I came up directing music videos/commercials and running a shop in Toronto called MAVERICK FILMS. Shooting on smaller budgets + film taught me how to shoot judiciously.

I have natural comfort with picture because I was a commercial/portrait photographer for many years. Story came naturally to me because of my academic back ground in African American Lit. I have a great deal of producing experience, and know my way around post. I have a strong command of running efficient sets, being decisive in ways that serve the story, edit and budget. The past 7 years I have been refining my skills with actors through the Storytellers Conservatory in Los Angeles.

Below the screeners is a short selected filmography, awards and affiliations. I recently wrapped a doc show for Crave with Mena Massoud ( Aladdin w/ Will Smith) as Series Director but looking to do more narrative work through 2023.

I am DGC, but happy to take dispensation for the right project. I am excited to share references of established industry professionals that can attest to my commitment to excellence, experience and easy nature.

BONECRUSHER received the short film financing award from the the DGC. It has screened in a ton of festivals, won the Kansas City Film Festival and the Halifax Black Film Festival It is currently shortlisted for this years CANADIAN SCREEN AWARDS.

This film is a calling card for the feature film by the same name. It was produced by Alex Jordan (Mayor of Kingstown, Private Eyes) and Alex Wright (Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule ).

The film caught National attention and I was interviewed for CBC National and a bunch of other news outlets.

This feature film was a structured hybrid doc. I wrote the structure for the film and spent 18 months in development with Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace) and Chantal Kreviazuk. It premiered in at Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood to a full house and screened on Crave. It was nominated at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards. This short film I developed with writer/actor Cynthia Crofoot. The premise is currently in development for a series. The film screened in dozen festivals and received honors at
